About FLEXTERE
A Different Way to Understand About Chronic Pain
FLEXTERE is a pain education, coaching, and technology company built around a different way of understanding persistent pain.
Pain is real. But pain is not always a direct reflection of tissue damage. It is a complex protective experience shaped by the brain, nervous system, body, environment, past experiences, expectations, attention, emotions, and perceived threat.
When pain persists, the nervous system can sometimes continue responding as though protection is still needed, even after an injury has healed or when structural findings no longer fully explain the experience about Chronic Pain.
At FLEXTERE, we explore what may be happening beneath persistent pain and help people develop a deeper understanding of how their pain experience is shaped.
From Understanding to Change Chronic Pain
Our approach brings together pain neuroscience education, nervous system regulation, coaching, and technology to create a practical pathway forward.
We focus on five key steps:
Understand: Learn how pain works and why it can persist.
Recognize: Identify the biological, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that may influence the pain experience.
Regulate: Develop strategies to reduce unnecessary threat and nervous system activation.
Reprocess: Explore new ways of experiencing sensations and interrupt learned protective responses.
Re-engage: Gradually rebuild movement, confidence, activity, and participation in everyday life.
Science + Human Experience + Change
FLEXTERE does not ask you to choose between a physical or psychological explanation for pain. Instead, we look at pain as a complex biological experience involving the whole person. We also believe that appropriate medical evaluation comes first. When an injury, disease, or other medical condition requires treatment, it should be properly evaluated and addressed. FLEXTERE then provides another layer of understanding, helping people explore how the nervous system learns, adapts, and responds to experiences over time.
A New Way Forward
The goal is not to tell you that your pain is “all in your head.” Your pain is real.
The goal is to help you understand why your nervous system may be producing a protective response, what may be maintaining that response, and what may be possible to change.
Because the nervous system can learn, adapt, and change.
Your pain is real.
Your biology is trying to protect you.
And what has been learned may be capable of changing.
FLEXTERE, Change What Comes Next.
